Note: As the drought has affected landscape plants outside of irrigated gardens, it appears that deer have changed their behavior by aggregating more around gardens and munching on previously avoided plants.  The damage is indeed staggering in some situations.  Keep in mind if they are hungry enough, they will eat just about everything.
